Rainy Days by xpripri81 Rainy Days by xpripri81
Just trying out the digital painting style without lineart on paint tool sai, so I took the lazy route and put in some really inadequate shading! I found that it was a little bit easier actually, and I finished this within an hour. But I hope my somewhat lazy doodle is enjoyable! :D

Hi dear,
I'm from :iconprojectcomment:

..and I think I'm in love with that umbrella! I want one :la:

I really like this drawing you know?
So sketchy but still so brilliant! The umbrella is the thing I like the most but I'm impressed by the background also: how could such a simply thing stand out in that way?   Great.
I really love the colors too! blue and yellow contrast a lot giving evidence to every detail of the picture!
I must fave this

Haha thanks so much for the feedback! :D
I went looking around for an umbrella like that too, so when I couldn't find one at the store, I ended up drawing it xD

This is really cute! I like the color choices, using mostly muted colors with the bright yellow really makes it pop. I also adore the minimalist/no-lineart look, it's very clean and crisp. Your placement seems a little arbitrary, though -- when you're doing something without intricate detail, the composition and perspective become really important, so you might want to plan it out in draft form first so it looks more balanced. this one has a bunch of empty space to her right and on the bottom, which makes it feel unfinished. It's a good idea to pay attention to the silhouette and the high-contrast areas, because that's where the eye will go first. I'm also a little confused about what the figure's emotions are? her face isn't showing, and her pose looks kind of playful, but everything else about the piece suggests a more somber mood. i know it's just practice, but it's good to keep things like that in mind. i really like this style though, it has a lot of personality!
